An Act to enable William Ramsay Ramsay of Barn-
Ion,
Heir of Entail in possession of Barnton and
other Estates in the County of Edinburgh, to
borrow Money upon the Security of the said
Estates, for the Repayment of Monies laid out
in the Improvement of the said Estate, and to
enable him and his Successors to grant Feus of
certain Parts
thereof;
and for other Purposes
therein expressed. [27th July 1846.]

HEREAS George Ramsay of Barnton, since deceased, Deed of En-

One thousand eight hundred and seven Years, recorded in the Dec. 1807.
Register of Taillies the Second Day of February One thousand eight
hundred and ten, and in the Books of Council and Session the Nine-
teenth Day of April thereafter, did, for certain weighty Causes and
Considerations, grant Procuratory for resigning in the Hands of his
[Private.] 7 y immediate

immediate lawful Superiors all and sundry the Lands and Baronies,
Mills,
Teinds, and others, situated in the Counties of Edinburgh and
Stirling, therein set forth, and, inter alia, his Lands and Estates in
the County of Edinburgh therein and herein-after specified; videlicet,
all and whole the Lands of Over Barnton, with the Tower, Fortalice,
and Manor Place, Houses, Biggings, Yards, Orchards, and Pertinents
of the same; as also all and whole the Lands of Craigshott and
Blacklock Muirside and King's Meadow, which are proper Parts and
Pendicles of the Lands of Over Barnton, with the Tofts, Crofts,
Outsetts, Parts, Pendicles, Annexis, Connexis, Dependencies, Tenants,
Tenandries, and Services of Free Tenants, of all and whole the said
Lands of Over Barnton, Tofts, Crofts, Outsetts, and Pertinents of
the same, with the Garbal and other Teinds of the Lands above
specified; also all and whole the Muir of Cramond, with the whole
Lands and Bounds of the same, far and near, Parts, Pendicles, and
Pertinents of the same, along with the Advocation, Donation, and
Right of Patronage, Parsonage and Vicarage, of Cramond; and also
all and whole the Lands of Craig House, with Houses, Biggings,
Yards, Tofts, Crofts, Outsetts, Pendicles, Annexis, Connexis, Depen-
dencies, and whole Pertinents of the same whatsoever, lying within
the County of Edinburgh, along with the Pasturage and Right of
pasturing Oxen and Cattle, and casting, leading, and winning of
Peats and Turfs, within the Common Muir of Cramond; and in like
Manner all and haill the Lands of Nether Barnton, as well Property
as Superiority of the same, with Houses, Biggings, Yards, Tofts,
Crofts, Annexis, Connexis, Parts, Pendicles, and haill Pertinents of
the same, lying contiguous to the said Lands of Over Barnton,
within the Sheriffdom of Edinburgh, all united and erected into an
haill and free Barony called the Barony of Barnton; as also all and
haill the Island called Cramond Inch, with Parts, Pendicles, Annexis,
Connexis, Dependencies, and haill Pertinents of the same, lying
within the Sea in the Parish of Cramond and Sheriffdom of Edinburgh
foresaid; and all other Lands, as well Property as Superiority, which
pertained and belonged of before to Sir George Hamilton of Barnton, ^
within the said Parish of Cramond, and Teinds, Parsonage and Vicar-
age,
of the said haill Barony; as also all and haill the Lands and
Barony of Cramond, comprehending the Lands and others under-
written, viz. all and haill the Lands of King's Cramond, with Houses,
Biggings, Yards, Tofts, Crofts, Outsetts, Insetts, Annexis, Connexis,
Dependencies, Tenants, Tenandries, and Services of Free Tenants,
Parts,
Pendicles, and Pertinents of the same whatsoever, with the
Pasturage and Right of pasturing, casting, leading, and winning
Peats,
Turf,
and Fuel within the haill Bonds of the Muir of Cra-
mond,
lying within the Lordship of King's Cramond and Sheriffdom
of Edinburgh, with free Ish and Entry to the said Muir of Cramond,
with the Pertinents and Privileges foresaid, which was acquired from
the deceased Mr. William Adamson
,
as also all and haill the Lands
of Dubhouse after mentioned, viz. Three Acres of Land lying in the
Territory of King's Cramond, and Half an Acre of Land lying
adjacent to the Lands of Corstorphine called Riggs, with the Per-
tinents, lying between the Lands of the deceased Alexander Cramond
on the South and North Parts, and Two Acres and a Half of Land
lying
