CHAPTER xlix
An Act to extend the boundaries of the county borough
of West Hartlepool and for purposes incidental thereto.
[1st August 1952.]
W
HEREAS the existing county borough of West Hartlepool
(in the preamble to this Act called " the borough ")
is a county borough subject to the jurisdiction of the
mayor aldermen and burgesses of the borough (hereinafter called
" the Corporation "):
And whereas the borough now comprises the parish of West
Hartlepool such parish being co-exlensive with the borough:
And whereas the parishes of Dalton Piercy Greatham and
Seaton in the rural district of Stockton in the administrative
county of Durham adjoin the borough :
And whereas it is expedient that the boundaries of the
borough and of the parish of West Hartlepool should be altered
and extended so as to include therein parts of the said parishes
of Dalton Piercy Greatham and Seaton (which are in this Act
together referred to as " the added area ") :
And whereas the unrepealed provisions of the local Acts Pro-
visional and other Orders specified in Parts I and II respectively
of the First Schedule to this Act are immediately prior to the
passing of this Act in force in the borough:
And whereas it is expedient that the other provisions con-
tained in this Act be enacted:
And whereas the objects aforesaid cannot be attained with-
out the authority of Parliament:
And whereas in relation to the promotion of the Bill for this
Act the requirements of Part XIII of the Local Government
Act 1933 have been observed:
