The Healthy Start Scheme and Welfare Food (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020

Coming into force 30th July 2020
The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) of the Social Security Act 19881and section 175(4) of the Social Security Contribution and Benefits Act 19922.
In accordance with section 13(2) of the Social Security Act 19883, the Secretary of State has consulted with the Welsh Ministers4.
Citation, commencement, extent, application and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Healthy Start Scheme and Welfare Food (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 30th July 2020.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and apply in relation to England only.
(3) In these Regulations, “the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations” means the Healthy Start Scheme and Welfare Food (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 20205.
Amendment of regulation 31 of the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations (transitional provision)
2. Regulation 31 of the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations (transitional provision) is amended as follows—
(a) in paragraph (1), for “regulation 9(c)” substitute “regulations 9(c) and 17”; and
(b) in paragraph (2), after “this regulation” insert “, with the exception of “Healthy Start food”,”; and
(c) after paragraph (2) insert—
“3. In this regulation, “Healthy Start food” has the same meaning as in the principal Regulations6.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Healthy Start Scheme and Welfare Food (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2020 ( S.I. 2020/267) (“the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations”). They rectify a defect in the transitional provisions in the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations. These Regulations are issued free of charge to all recipients of the Miscellaneous Amendments Regulations.
