The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section
51(2) of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014(a) and all other powers enabling
them to do so.
In accordance with section 99(2) of that Act, a draft of this Order has been laid before and
approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014
(Modification) (No. 1) Order 2019 and comes into force on 1 August 2019.
Modification of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014
2.—(1) The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 is modified in accordance with this
article.
(2) In section 51 (method of delivery of early learning and childcare), in subsection (1)(b), for
“more than 2.5 hours but less than 8 hours” substitute “10 hours or less”.
