We, the Rule Committee of the Supreme Court, being the authority having for the time being power under subsection (4) of section 99 of the Supreme Court of Judicature (Consolidation) Act 1925(a) to make, amend or revoke rules regulating the practice and procedure of the Supreme Court of Judicature, hereby exercise those powers and all other powers enabling us in that behalf as follows:—
1.—(1) In the Rules of the Supreme Court 1883(b), the first paragraph is hereby revoked and the Orders specified in column (1) of Part I of Schedule 1 hereto are hereby revoked to the extent specified in column (2) of that Part.
(2) The Rules specified in column (1) of Part II of the said Schedule 1 are hereby revoked to the extent specified in column (2) of that Part.
(3) The Rules of the Supreme Court May 1887(c) are hereby revoked.
(4) The Rules of the Supreme Court (Criminal Proceedings) 1938(d), except rule 17 and the Appendix, and the Rules of the Supreme Court (Criminal Proceedings) 1949(e) are hereby revoked.
2. In the Rules of the Supreme Court 1883, the Orders specified in column (1) of Schedule 2 hereto shall be renumbered with the numbers specified in relation to them in column (2) of that Schedule and shall be transferred to the places in the said Rules appropriate to them as so renumbered.
3. The Orders set out in Schedule 3 hereto shall have effect in place of the rules and Orders hereby revoked and shall be inserted in the Rules of the Supreme Court 1883 in the places appropriate to their numbers; and the arrangement of Orders set out at the beginning of that Schedule shall be inserted at the beginning of the Rules of the Supreme Court 1883.
4. The Rules of the Supreme Court 1883 shall have effect subject to the consequential amendments set out in Schedule 4 hereto.
5. The enactments specified in columns (1) and (2) of Schedule 5 hereto (being enactments relating to matters with respect to which the rules specified in column (4) of that Schedule have been made) are hereby repealed to the extent specified in column (3) of that Schedule.

6. The Rules of the Supreme Court 1883, as amended by this and by all other instruments, may be cited as the "Rules of the Supreme Court"
7. The Interpretation Act 1889(a) applies in relation to this instrument and in relation to the revocations and repeals effected by it as if this instrument, the rules and orders revoked by it and any rules and orders revoked by the rules and orders so revoked were Acts of Parliament, and as if each revocation were a repeal.
8. This instrument may be cited as the Rules of the Supreme Court (Revision) 1962 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1964.
