HEREAS an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament
held in the Ninth and Tenth ^ears of the Reign of Her
present Majesty, intituled An Act for making a Railway 9&
10
Vict.
from the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway to the Lancaster and
c.
92.
Carlisle Railway, with a diverging Line therefrom to Lancaster, to be
called " The North-western Railway," whereby a Company was incor-
porated, called
'*
The North-western Railway Company;" And whereas
another Act was passed in the same Session, intituled An Act for
9 & 10

making a Harbour and Docks at Heysham on Morecambe Bay in the c.

Company was incorporated called "The Morecambe Harbour and Rail-
way Company:" And whereas under or by virtue of the Powers and
Provisions of the said last-recited Act the Undertaking of the said
Morecambe Harbour and Railway Company has become vested in the
said North-western Railway Company: And whereas it would be of
local and public Advantage if the said North-wester?! Railway Company
