HERE AS an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament
held in the Seventh Year of the Reign of His Majesty
King William the Fourth, intituled An Act for making a 7 w.

Railway from Sheffield in the West Riding of the County of York to

Manchester in the County of Lancaster, whereby a Company was
incorporated called " The Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne, and Man-
chester Railway Company:" And whereas the Provisions of the said
Act have been amended and enlarged by several subsequent Acts of
Parliament relating to the said Company, passed respectively in the
Sessions of Parliament held in the Fifth and Sixth, the Sixth and
Seventh, and the Seventh and Eighth Years of the Reign of Her
present Majesty, and in the last Session of Parliament: And whereas
an Act was passed in the Session of Parliament held in the Eighth
and Ninth Years of the Reign of Her said present Majesty, intituled
An Act for making a Railway from a Place in the Parish o/'Bole in 8
& 9
