(1) Section 15 of the Commonwealth Development Corporation Act 1999 (limit on government assistance) is amended as follows.(2) In subsection (1) , for “£1,500 million” substitute “ £6,000 million ”.(3) After subsection (3) insert—
  • “(4) The Secretary of State may by regulations substitute for the amount for the time being specified in subsection (1) a larger amount not exceeding £12,000 million.
  • (5) Regulations made by the Secretary of State under this section are to be made by statutory instrument.
  • (6) A statutory instrument containing regulations under this section may not be made unless a draft of the instrument has been laid before and approved by a resolution of the House of Commons.
