  • may be cited as the Water Resources (Control of Pollution) (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2010;
  • apply to England only; and
  • come into force on 6
  • The Water Resources (Control of Pollution) (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) (England) Regulations 2010
  • In regulation 2, in the definition of “silage effluent” omit the words “or a crop being made into silage”.
  • in paragraph (1) , omit the words “subject to paragraph (4) ,”; and
  • for paragraph (4) , substitute—
    • A person who has custody or control of a silage bale must not open or remove the wrapping of the bale within 10 metres of any inland freshwaters or coastal waters which silage effluent could enter as a result.
  • After regulation 7(4) insert—
    • A person on whom a regulation 7 notice has been served must comply with the requirements of that notice.
  • In regulation 10(1) for “7(1) ” substitute “7(4A) ”.
