CHAPTER xlii.
An Act to confer further powers upon the

mayor aldermen and burgesses of the borough
of Worksop with regard to their electricity
and water undertakings to make further and
better provision for the improvement health
local government and finance of the borough
and for other purposes. [18th July 1933.]
W
HEREAS the borough of Worksop in the county
of Nottingham, (hereinafter referred to as " the
borough") is a municipal borough under the manage-
ment and control of the mayor aldermen and burgesses
of the borough (hereinafter called " the Corporation "):
And whereas by the Worksop Electric Lighting
Order 1899 and the Worksop Electricity (Extension)
Special Order 1930 the Corporation are empowered to
supply electricity for all public and private purposes
within the borough and the parish of Whitwell and it
is expedient to make further provision in regard to
their electricity undertaking :
And whereas the Corporation are the owners of
waterworks and are authorised by the Worksop Urban
District Council Act 1910 to supply water in the borough
and it is expedient to make further provision in regard
to their water undertaking :
And whereas it is expedient that further and
better provision should be made with reference to streets
buildings infectious disease and sanitary matters and

1933» otherwise for the local government health improvement
and finance of the borough and that the powers of the
Corporation in relation thereto should be enlarged and
extended:
And whereas it is expedient that the other powers
contained in this Act should be conferred :
And whereas the objects of this Act cannot be
attained without the authority of Parliament :
And whereas in relation to the promotion of the
Bill for this Act the requirements of the Borough Funds
Acts 1872 and 1903 have been observed :
May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may
be enacted and be it enacted by the King's most
Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent
.of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons in
this present Parliament assembled and by the authority
of the same as follows (that is to say):

1.
This Act may be cited as the Worksop Corpora-
tion Act 1933.
2.
This Act is divided into Parts as follows :
Part I.—Preliminary.
Part II.—Electricity.
Part III.—Water.,
Part IV.—Lands.
Part V.—Streets buildings sewers and drains.
Part VI.—Infectious disease and sanitary pro-
visions.
Part VII.—Parks baths public buildings &c.
Part VIII. —Sale of coke.
Part IX.—financial provisions.
Part X.—Miscellaneous provisions.
3.
The Lands Clauses,Acts except section 127 of
the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act 1845 and except
the provisions with respect to the purchase and taking
of lands otherwise than by agreement (so far as the

same are applicable for the purposes and are not incon- A.D. 1933.
sistent with the provisions of this Act) are hereby
incorporated with and form part of this Act.
4.—(1) In this Act the several words and expressions Interpre-

(2) In this Act unless the subject or context other-
wise requires
The borough " means the borough of Worksop;
The Corporation " means the mayor aldermen and
burgesses of the borough;
" The council " means the council of the borough;
The mayor " " the town clerk " " the accountant "
" the medical officer" " the surveyor " and
" the sanitary inspector" mean respectively
the mayor the town clerk the accountant the
medical officer of health the surveyor and the
sanitary inspector of the borough and include
respectively any person duly authorised to
discharge temporarily the duties of those offices
respectively;
The general rate fund " and " the general rate "
mean respectively the general rate fund and
the general rate of the borough;
The electricity undertaking " means the electricity
undertaking of the Corporation for the time
being authorised;
The electricity limits " means the limits for the
time being of the Corporation for the supply of
electricity;
" The water undertaking " means the water under-
taking of the Corporation for the time being
authorised;
" The limits of supply,J means the limits for the
time being of the Corporation for the supply of
water;
" The Act of 1888 " " the Act of 1894 " and " the
Act of 1929" mean respectively the Local
