The National Curriculum (Amendments to the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 Assessment Arrangements) (Wales) Order 2011

The Welsh Ministers in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 108(3)(c), (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11) and 210(7) of the Education Act 20021make the following Order:

S-1 Title, commencement and application

Title, commencement and application

1.—(1) The title of this Order is the National Curriculum (Amendments to the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 Assessment Arrangements) (Wales) Order 2011 and it comes into force on 1 September 2011.

(2) This Order applies to maintained schools in Wales.

2. The National Curriculum (Key Stage 2 Assessment Arrangements) (Wales) Order 20042is amended as follows—

(a) in article 3(1), after the definition of “summer term” insert—

““working day” (“diwrnod gwaith”) means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or a day which is a bank holiday within the meaning of section 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 19713.”; and

(b) in article 4(3) for “two weeks” substitute “twenty working days”.

3. The National Curriculum (Key Stage 3 Assessment Arrangements) (Wales) Order 20054is amended as follows—

(a) in article 3(1), after the definition of “summer term” insert—
