The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 and save as is mentioned in paragraph (2) , come into force on 1st April 2014.(2) Regulation 2(3) and the definition of “actuarial guidance issued by the Secretary of State” in Schedule 1 (which require the Secretary of State to consult the Government Actuary's Department before issuing actuarial guidance) come into force on 1st November 2013 for the purpose of enabling the Secretary of State to consult the Government Actuary's Department and to issue guidance to have effect from 1st April 2014.(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales (1) These Regulations establish a scheme for the payment of pensions and other benefits to or in respect of persons working in local government service, referred to in these Regulations as “the Scheme”.(1A) In these Regulations “local government service” means employment with a body specified in Part 1 of Schedule 2.if that person is employed by a body specified in Part 2 of Schedule 2 and is designated, or belongs to a class of employees that is designated, by that body as being eligible for membership of the Scheme; orif that person is specified in column 1 of the table in Part 4 of Schedule 2.(1C) The Scheme may potentially relate to a person employed by an admission body.(2) The Scheme
