The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Wimbledon) (Revocation) Regulations 2020

Made at 12.15 p.m. on 2ndApril 2020

Coming into force with immediate effect

The Secretary of State previously decided that it was in the public interest to restrict flying in the vicinity of Wimbledon, London Borough of Merton, by reason of the gathering of a large number of people at the 2020 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships.

Following the cancellation of the event, the Secretary of State has decided that it is no longer necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in that area and makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(1).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Wimbledon) (Revocation) Regulations 2020 and come into force with immediate effect.

Revocation of Regulations

2. The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Wimbledon) 2020(2) are revoked

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Wimbledon) Regulations 2020 which imposed restrictions on flying in the airspace surrounding the 2020 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships during that event. The Regulations are no longer needed as the event has now been cancelled.
