The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Music Festivals) Regulations 2019

The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict the flying of unmanned aircraft by reason of the intended gathering of large numbers of persons at music festivals at various sites in England.

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(1).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Music Festivals) Regulations 2019 and come into force on 24th May 2019.

Interpretation

2. In regulation 3(1) the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time(2).

Restricted airspace

3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2)—

(a) between 0800 hours and 2300 hours on each day beginning on 24th May and ending on 26th May 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area having a radius of 0.75 nautical miles whose centre is at 523231N 0011208W,

(b) between 0800 hours on 12th June and 1400 hours on 17th June 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 1 nautical mile whose centre is at 524949N 0012231W,

(c) between 0500 hours on 13th June and 1400 hours on 17th June 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 1 nautical mile whose centre is at 504242N 0011715W,

(d) between 0800 hours and 2200 hours on 13th and 14th July 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area having a radius of 0.75 nautical miles whose centre is at 512815N 0000008W,

(e) between 0800 hours on 18th July and 1400 hours on 22nd July 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 0.75 nautical miles whose centre is at 522013N 0013549E,

(f) between 0800 hours on 25th July and 1400 hours on 29th July 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 0.75 nautical miles whose centre is at 503823N 0021225W,

(g) between 0800 hours on 21st August and 1400 hours on 26th August 2019, no unmanned aircraft is to fly below 2,500 feet above mean sea...
