The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1), 14(1)(a) and (4), 124(1)(d) and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984( 1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
In accordance with section 14(1)(a) of that Act, they are satisfied that the traffic on the length of road specified in the schedule should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near that length of road.
In accordance with section 14(3) of that Act, they have had regard to the existence of alternative routes suitable for the traffic which will be affected by this Order.
Citation, commencement and cessation
1. This Order may be cited as the A828 Trunk Road (Kentallen to Ledaig) (Temporary Vehicle Width Restriction) (No. 2) Order 2017, comes into force on 27th September 2017 and ceases to have effect on 3rd October 2017.
Width Restriction
2. No person may use or permit the use of, any vehicle on the length of road specified in the schedule if the width of the vehicle exceeds 2.4 metres, when such restriction is identified as applying to any part or parts of that length of road by means of a traffic sign as prescribed in item 26 (diagram 629A – vehicles exceeding width indicated prohibited) of Part 2 of schedule 3 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016( 2).
Revocation
3. The A828 Trunk Road (Kentallen to Ledaig) (Temporary Vehicle Width Restriction) Order 2017( 3) is revoked.
Exemptions
4. No prohibition imposed by this Order applies to—
(a) a vehicle while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes; or
(b) a vehicle being used for carrying out the works.

SCHEDULE
Article 2
SPECIFIED LENGTH OF ROAD
That length of the A828 Connel – South Ballachulish Trunk Road from a point 320 metres or thereby north of its junction with Cameron Brae, Kentallen in a generally southwards direction to a point about 500 metres north of its junction with the access road leading to North Ledaig Caravan Park, Ledaig, a distance of 34.2 kilometres or thereby.
