The A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Conwy) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2020

The Welsh Ministers, as traffic authority for the relevant length of the A470 trunk road, are satisfied that traffic on a specified length of the trunk road should be prohibited because of works proposed on or near the road.

The Welsh Ministers, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 14(1) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984( 1), make this Order.

Title, Commencement and Interpretation

1. The title of this Order is the A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Conwy) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2020 and it comes into force on 1 July 2020.

2. In this Order—

“exempted vehicle” (“cerbyd esempt”) means any vehicle being used by the emergency services or in connection with the works giving rise to this Order;

“the trunk road” (“y gefnffordd”) means the length of the A470 Maentwrog to East of Conwy trunk road at Llanrwst that extends from the centrepoint of its junction with Parry Road in a southeasterly direction to the centrepoint of its junction to Plas yn Dre;

“works period” (“cyfnod y gwaith”) means the period commencing at 00:01 hours on 1 July 2020 and ending when the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.

Prohibition of Waiting at any time

3. No person may, during the works period, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, police community support officer or civil enforcement officer, cause or permit any vehicle to wait on the length of the trunk road.

Application

4. The prohibition in articles 3 applies only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs.

Suspension

5. The provisions of the A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Gwynedd) (Restriction of Waiting) Order 1996( 2) is suspended on the length of the trunk road during such times as the prohibition specified in article 3 is in operation.

Duration of this Order

6. The maximum duration of this Order is 18 months.
