An A61 to amend and enlarge the Powers of the
feveral Acts relating to the Stratford-upon-Avon
Canal Navigation. [12th May 1809.]

HEREAS an A& was paffed m the Thirty-third Year of the
Reign of His prefent Majefly, intituled, An Aft for making 33G.
and maintaining a Navigable Canal from the Worcefter and
.Birmingham Canal Navigation in the Parijh of King's Norton, into the
Borough ^/"Stratford-upon-Avon, andalfo certain
Collateral
Cuts from the
/aid intended Canal, whereby certain Perfons therein named, and their
Succeffors, Executors, Adminiflrators, and Afligns, together with fuch
Perfon or Perfons as they fhould nominate and appoint under tbeir
Hands and Seals, were united into a Company for carrying on, making,
completing, and maintaining the faid Navigable Canal and Collateral.
Cuts paflable for Boats, Barges, and other VefTels, and were incor.
porated by the Name of " The Company of Proprietors of the
Stratford-upon-Avon Canal Navigation," and by that Name were to have
perpetual Succeflion and a Common Seal, with fuch Powers as in the
faid A£t are mentioned; and the faid Company of Proprietors were au-
thorized and empowered to raife and contribute among themfelves, in
fuch Proportions as to them fhould feem meet and convenient, a competent
Sum of Money for making and completing the faid Canal and Col-
