Act for
providing
a
covered Market
in the
Borough
of
Scarborough
in the
County
of
York,
for improving
the
Approaches thereto,
for re-
moving
the
present Market,
and for
regulating
the Markets
and
Fairs
in
such Borough.

HEREAS
the
providing
a
Market House
and
Slaughter-
houses, together with
all
proper Buildings
and
Works
connected therewith,
in the
Borough
of
Scarborough
in the
North Riding
of the
County
of
York,
for the
Sale
of
Butchers Meat,
Poultry, Fish, Batter, Cheese, Vegetables, Corn,
Hay, and
other
Provisions, Goods, Wares, Merchandise,
and
marketable Commodities,,
would
be of
great public Advantage:
And
whereas
a
suitable Site
for
such Market House might
be
obtained
in the
said Borough between
Saint Sepulchre Street, Leading Post Street,
and
Dumple Street
on
the East,
and
Saint Helen's Square
and
Cross Street
on the
West,
and
it is
expedient
to
authorize
the
Purchase
and
taking
of
the Lands
required
for
such Purpose,
and the
Improvement
of the
Approaches
thereto:
And
whereas
the
Mayor, Aldermen,
and
Burgesses
of the
