bearing Date at

on or about the Twenty-second Day of

twenty, and in pursuance oftlie aforesaid Act

Parliament, did incorporate divers Persons therein named, to be
a
Corporation in Deed and in Name, and to have
a
perpetual Succession,
and

Common Seal, by the
Name
of'"The
Royal
Exchange
Assurance,"
for insuring Ships and Goods at Sea, or going to Sea, and for lending
Money
upon
Bottomry, to raise
a
Capital
of
One million five hundred
thousand Pounds, and to make Bye Laws and Regulations for thegood
Governmentthereof,
so
as
such Bye
Laws
were not repugnant to the
Laws
of'
the Land
;
which Charter
is
subject to Revocation, as in the
said Act and Charter mentioned
:
And whereas His said Majesty King
Charter
to
George
the First, by virtue
of
His
Royal Prerogative,
by
other Letters
the
Royal
Patent under the Great Seal
of
Great
Britain,
bearing Date at
West-
ExcllangeAs-
surarice
of
minster
on
or about the Twenty-ninth Day ofApril One thousand seven

Goods

the same Letters Patent named, to
be
a
Corporation in Deed and in
Fire,

Name, for the Assurance

any Life
