enipower the Bury and District Joint Water
A.D.
1903.

Board
to
construct additional waterworks
to
repeal and
amend enactments relating
to
the water undertaking
of
the Board and for other purposes.

EXREAS
by the Bury and District Water (Transfer) Act
\&T
1900
the water undertaking
of
the mayor aldermen and
burgesses of the county borough
of
Bury
was
transferred to
the
Bury
and District Joint Water Board
(in
this Act called
"
the Board
")
consisting of representatives from the constitusnt
authorities set forth
in
the said Act:
And
whereas
the
supply
of
water from the existii2g works
of
the Board is insufficieni to satisfy the present and growing
demands
of
the inhabitants within the limits
of
supply
of
the
Board and it
is
expedient that the Board should be empowered
to construct the additional waterworks in this Act described
or
referred to
:
And whereas
it
is expedient that the Board should be
empowered to purchase compulsorily the lands herein-after
described in connexion with their waterworks undertaking
:
Ancl whereas it
is
expedient that the Board should be
empowered to borrow mouey
as
in
this Act mentioned and that
better provision should be made as in t'his Act mentioned in
regard to the loans
of
the
Board
the securities upon which they
are charged the discharge
of
borrowed money and other financial
matters
:
And whereas th(> indebtedness
of
the Board
in
respect
of
their water undertaking and their unexhausted borrowing powera

whereas
it
is expedient to consolidate and amerid the
enactments in force relating to the water undeitaking
of
the
Board
:
And
whereas the purposes of this Act cannot be effected
wiihout the authority
of

or
which may
be taken
for
the purposes or under the powers
of

duly deposited
with
the clerk
of
the peace for the county palatine
of Lancaster and are in this Act respectively referred to as the
deposited
plans
