The Potato Marketing Scheme (Amendment) Order 1971

Whereas the Potato Marketing Board duly submitted to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State concerned with agriculture in Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales (hereinafter called "the Ministers") certain amendments of the Potato Marketing Scheme 1955(a), as amended (b), which amendments, as subsequently modified by the Ministers, are set forth in the Schedule hereto:

And Whereas the Ministers laid before each House of Parliament the amendments set forth in the said Schedule and the House of Commons resolved on 28th April 1971 and the House of Lords resolved on 20th April 1971 that they should be approved:

Now, therefore, the Ministers in pursuance of section 2 of the Agricultural Marketing Act 1958(c) and Schedule 1 to that Act, as read with the Transfer of Functions (Wales) Order 1969(d), acting jointly, hereby make the following order:—

1. This order may be cited as the Potato Marketing Scheme (Amendment) Order 1971.

2. The amendments of the Potato Marketing Scheme 1955, as amended, which are set forth in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved and shall come into operation on 10th May 1971.

SCHEDULE

The Potato Marketing Scheme 1955, as amended, shall be further amended as follows:—

1. By substituting in paragraph 40(1) thereof for the words from "in addition" to "in excess of 24" inclusive the words "in addition a fee not exceeding one new penny for each entry copied in excess of 24".

2. By substituting in paragraph 56 thereof, as amended by section 10 of the Decimal Currency Act 1969(a), for the words "twelve and a half new pence" the words "ten new pence".

3. By substituting for sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 84(2) thereof the following sub-paragraph:—

"(a) an ordinary contribution as provided for in sub-paragraph (3) of this paragraph, and".
