An Act for inclosing and exonerating from Tiflief
Lands in the Parish of Langford in the County of
Bedford. [14th
June
1827.]
"^ 7T THEREAS there are within the Parish of Langford in the
\/%/ County of Bedford divers Open and Common Fields, Meadows,
T T Pastures, Commons, and Wastes, containing in the whole by
Estimation One thousand seven hundred Acres, or thereabouts ; and also
certain inclosed Lands containing Three hundred Acres, or thereabouts,
exclusive of certain old Inclosures situate within the Hamlet of
Holme
in
the said Parish: And whereas the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of
Saint Peter Westminster
are Lords of One Manor within the
said Parish called The Manor of
Holme
with Langford, and Thomas
Alexander Raynsford
Esquire is Lord of another Manor within the said
Parish called The Manor of Langford, and
Joseph
Eade Esquire is Lord
of another Manor within the said Parish called The Manor of
the Rectory
of Langford: And whereas Sir
William Long
Knight, and others, are
Rectors Impropriate of the said Parish, and as such claim to be entitled
to all the Great Tithes, consisting of Corn, Grain, and Hay, arising and
payable within the said Parish, exclusive of the Hamlet oi
Holme
afore-
said
:
And whereas the King's most Excellent Majesty in right of his
Crown is Patron of the Vicarage and Parish Church of Langford aforesaid,

thereof,
and in
right of such Vicarage claims to be entitled to certain Glebe Lands, and
to the Tithes of Wool and Lamb, and all Small Tithes, or customary
Payments in lieu
thereof,
arising or payable within the said Parish: And
whereas

Nigel Edwards Esquire, the Reverend Montagu Earle
Welby
Clerk, Mark Norman Gentleman, and the said Thomas Alexander Rayns-
ford,
and others, are Owners and Proprietors of the said Open and
Common Fields, Meadows, Pastures, Commons, and Wastes: And whereas
an Act was passed in the Forty-first Year of the Reign of His late Majesty

Acts: And whereas another Act was passed in the First and Second Years

of the Reign of His present Majesty, intituled An Act to amend the Laws

respecting
the
inclosing
of
Open
Fields; Pastures, Moors,
Commons,
and
Waste
Lands in England : And whereas it would be advantageous to the Persons
entitled to the said Open and Common Fields, Meadows, Pastures, Com-
mons,
and Waste Lands, if the same were divided and allotted unto and
among them, according to their respective Rights and Interests therein,
in order that such Allotments may be inclosed and held in Severalty; and
if, in consideration of an adequate Equivalent, all the Lands in the said
Parish, as well open as inclosed, exclusive of the said Hamiet of Holme,
were exonerated from the Payment of Tithes; but the several Purposes
aforesaid cannot be effected without the Authority of Parliament; May
it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted
by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent
of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Commis- Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That Joseph
sioners. Truslove of the Town and County of Cambridge, Gentleman, John
Burcham of
Coningsby
in the County of Lincoln, Gentleman, and William
Custance of Great Russell Street in the Parish of Saint
George Bloomsbury
in the County of Middlesex, Gentleman, shall be and they are hereby
appointed Commissioners for dividing, allotting, inclosing, and otherwise
improving all the Open and Common Fields, Meadows, Pastures, Commons,
and Waste Lands within the said Parish of Langford, and for carrying
into Execution the several other Purposes of this Act.
II.
And be it further enacted, That if the said Joseph Truslove shall,
before all the Powers hereby vested in the Commissioners shall be fully
executed, die, refuse, decline, or neglect to act, or become incapable of
acting in the Execution of this Act, it shall be lawful for the said

Edward Mossop, or the Vicar of Langford aforesaid for the Time being,
by Writing under his Hand, to appoint some other disinterested and fit
Person to be a Commissioner in the Stead of the said Joseph Truslove;
and if any Person who shall be appointed a Commissioner in the Place of
the said Joseph Truslove shall die, refuse, decline, or neglect to act, or
become incapable of acting as aforesaid, such future Vacancies shall be
filled up in like Manner by the Vicar of Langford aforesaid for the Time
being; and if the said John Burcham shall, before all the Powers hereby
vested in the Commissioners shall be fully executed, die, refuse, decline,
or neglect to act, or become incapable of acting in the Execution of this
Act, it shall be lawful for the Lords of the said several Manors for the
Time being, or any Two of them, by Writing under their Hands, to
