An Act for inclosing Lands in the Manor of Gokdr,
in the Parish of
Huddersßeld,
in the West Riding
of the County of York. [22d June 1820.]

HEREAS witbin the Manor oi
Golcar,
in the Parish of
Hudders*
ßeld,
in the County of York, there are divers Commons,
Moors, and Waste Grounds, called
Wholestone
Moor and
Bolster
Moor,
and various other Parcels of Waste not distinguished by
any particular Name, containing together Three hundred and thirty
Acres,
or thereabouts: And whereas the Honourable and Reverend John
Lumley Sovile
is Lord of the Manor of
Golcar,
in the said County of Tork,
and the Owner of the Soil of the said several Commons, Moors, and
Waste Grounds,d also of the Coal Mines, Veins, and Seams of Coal,
and all other Mines and Minerals therein, and is likewise Owner of certain
Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments with the said Manor of
Golcar:
And whereas the said
John Lumley
Savile,
and other Persons, as Owners
and Proprietors of Lands and Tenements within the said Manor of
Golcar,
are entitled to Right of Common upon the said Commons, Moors, and
Wastes: And whereas an Act was passed in the Forty-first Year of the
Reign of His late Majesty King
George
the Third, intituled An Act for

passing
of
such
Acts: And whereas the said Commons,

Moors, and Waste Grounds afford little Profit or Advantage in thcir
present State, but it would be very advantageous to the several Persons
interested therein if such Commons, Moors, and Wastes were divided
and inclosed, and specific Shares allotted to them, according to their
respective Interests therein; but such Division and Inclosure cannot be
effected and established without the Aid and Authority of Parliament:
May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it
enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice
and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this
Commis- present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, Tfcat all

the said Commons, Moors, and Waste Grounds shall, as soou as con-
pobted. veniently may be, be set out, divided, and allotted unto and amongst the
several Owners and Proprietors, and other Persons interested, according
to their several and respective Rights and Interests therein, by William
Pilkington
of Thorne, in the County of Tork, Gentleman, and
Frederick
Jones of
Milnes
Bridge, in the Parish of
Huddersfield,
in the said County,
Gentleman, who are hereby appointed Commissioners for that Purpose,
and for carrying the several Purposes of this Act and the said recited Act
inio Execution (except such Parcs of the said recited Act as are hereby
altered or varied), and under and subject to the Directions herein contained,
and to such of the Rules, Orders, Regulations, Restrictions, and Direc-
tions contained in the said recited Act as are not repugnant to, or varied
or controlled by, or otherwise provided for by this Act j and that it shall
be lawful for the said Commissioners, or either of them, or for any Justice
of the Peace for the West Riding of the County of
Tork,
to administer to
the said Commissioners, or either of them, the Oath or Affirmation
directed by the said recited Act to be taken by Commissioners.

caseo ea ,
become
incapacitated, or neglect for the Space of Three Calendar Months
to act, then and in every such Case the Lord of the said Manor for the
Time being shall and may thereupon appoint some other Person, not
interested in the said Inclosure, to be a Commissioner in the Stead of the
Said
William
Pilkington,
or of such Commissioner so dying, refusing, or
becoming incapacitated or neglecting to act; and if the said
Frederick
Jones, or any Commissioner to be appointed by the Majority in Value of
the Persons interested in the said Lands present at a Meeting as herein-
after mentioned, shall die, refuse, or become incapacitated, or neglect
for the Space of Three Calendar Months to act, some other Person, not
interested in the said Inclosure, shall and may be thereupon appointed a
Commissioner in the Stead of the said
Frederick
Jones,
or of any such
Commissioner dying, refusing, or becoming incapacitated, or neglecting
to act, by a Majority in Value (to be ascertained by the Land Tax
Assessment)_of the Persons interested in the Lands hereby intended to be
divided and inclosed, who shall be present at a Meeting to be holden for
that Purpose, pursuant to Notice given by the surviving Commissioner,
or^ by any Two or more of the said Proprietors, to be affixed upon the
pnncipal outer Door of the Parish Church of
Huddersßeld,
specifying the
rime and Place of such Meeting, upon a
Sunday,
at leastTen Days before
such Meeting; and in default of any such Appointment of a new Com-
