and
certain Perfons of

therein named, and their Succeffors, were thereby declared and appointed Hiding
to the
Confervators
of the
faid River,
and
Powers were granted
to
them
for
Navigation.
making and keeping the fame River navigable; and for reimburfing'them
the Principal Money which they had laid out
or
fhouid lay out in making
or keeping the faid River navigable, and otherwife as therein mentioned,
together with Interelt after the Rate therein expreffed, certain Tolls were
irnpofed on Veflels pnfling to and fro on the faid River; and after the faid
Confervators fhouid have been fully reimburfed
in
Manner therein men-
tioned then the lolls were
to
be reduced
to
certain Rates therein alfo

and
it is
provided that the reJuced Tolls fhouid be applied
in
keeping the faid River navigable, and that the Surplus fhouid be difpofed
of
for
the Benefit
of
the Poor
of
the Town
of
cJaunton9 and Pariflies of
Taunton Saint Mary Magdalen and Taunton Saint James
in
the County
aforefaid,
in the
Manner therein mentioned : And the Right Reverend
the Lord Biihop
