An A3: for building a Bridge over the River Severn,
from or near Crefage,, in the County of Salop, to
the opposite Shore ; and for making proper Roads
or Avenues to and from the fame.

W
HEREAS the Pafiage over the River Severn, by a Ford and Preamble
Ferry near
Creffage,
in the County of
Salop,
is often obftrudted
by Floods, and is inconvenient, and not fuited to the Accom-
modation of Paflengers from either Side; and it would be a great Con-
venience to the faid Councy and to the Publick, if a Communication
were made acrofs the faid River by a Bridge, and commodious Roads or
Avenues were made to and from the fame; (which the feveral Perfons
herein-after named are willing and defirous to complete at their own Ex-
pence) : But as fuch good Purpofes cannot be efFe&ed without the Au-
thority of Parliament; may it pleafe Your Majefty that it may be en-
abled

and be^it ena&ed by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and
with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and
Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and by the Authority

fuch of them as (hall be prefent at any Meeting to be held for that Pur-
pofe (hall admit, by Writing under their Hands and Seals, in Manner
herein-after mentioned, and their refpecfive Executors, Adminiftrators,
and Affigns, (hall be, and are hereby appointed Truftees for carrying on,
building, completing, and maintaining, at their own proper Cofts and
Charges, a Bridge of Caft Iron, Stone, Brick, or Timber, acrofs the
River Severn, from or near
Crejfage
to the oppofite Shore, and for making,
and keeping in good and fufficient Repair, a Road from the South End
of the ("aid Bridge to the Road which leads from Cund to
Crejfage
and
Much Wenlock; and from the North End of the faid Bridge, along the
prefent Road, which paffes through the feveral Parilhes and Townfhips
of Eaton
Conftantine,
Wroxeter, Wellington, Rujhton,
Uppington,
and Ajlon,
to near the Nine Mile Stone on the Road leading from Shrew/bury to the
Watling Street, or as near as conveniently may be; and alio a Branch
from or near the North End of the faid Bridge to the Collieiy, at or
near the Long
Wo'od,
and there to join the Road leading from Atcham to
Buildwas Bridge; and for that Purpofe (hall have full Power and Autho-
rity, by thernl'elves, and their Agents, Servants, Workmen, and others,
to remove any Shelves or other Obftructiohs in the, faid River, and to
dig up, take, and carry away all Beds of Gravel, Sand, Mud, or any
other Impediment, and alfo to dig and cut the Banks of the faid River,
in fuch Manner as (hall be neceffary and proper for the building the faid
Bridge, and to erect and make, in and over the faid River, and the
Lands adjoining or near the fame, any Campfhots, Trenches, and Land-
ing Places, and from Time to Time, and at all Times hereafter, to do
al£ other Matters and Things neceffary and convenient for erecting, fup-

orting, and maintaining the faid Bridge, doing as little Damage as may
e, and firft making Satisfaction and Recompence to the Owners, Pro-
prietors, or Occupiers of and Perfons interefted in any Lands, Tenements,
or Hereditaments, that (hall be made ufe of, damaged, or prejudiced, by,
for, or upon Account of erecting and maintaining the faid Bridge, or by,
for, or upon Account of turning, widening, altering, and making proper
Roads or Avenues as aforefaid, or by, for, or upon Account of the
doing and performing any other Act, Matter, or Thing, hereby autho-
rized to be done and performed for carrying the Purpofes of this Act into
Execution.
II.
And be it further enacted, That it (hall and may be lawful to and
for all Bodies Politick, Corporate, or Collegiate, Corporations Aggregate
or Sole,' and all Feoffees in Truft, Executors, Adminiftrators, Hufbands,
Guardians, Committees for Lunaticks and Idiots, and other Truftees
whatfoever, for and on Behalf of themfelves, their Heirs and Succeffors,
Infants or Iffue unborn, Lunaticks, Idiots, Femes Covert, or Ceftuique
Trufts, and other Perfons whatfoever, and to and for all Femes Covert
who are or (hall be feifed in their own Right, and to and for all and
every other Perfon or Perfons whomsoever, who are or (hall be feifed or
poffeffed of or interefted in any fuch Lands, Tenements, or Heredita-
ments, of any Tenure whatfoever, to treat, contract, or agree with the faid
Truftees,
