to confer further powers on the urban

Bognor Regis in regard
to
their water undertaking and
to
make further
and better provision for the improvement health
local
government and finance
of
their district
and
for
other purposes.

HEREAS the urban district of Bognor Regis
w
(in this
Act
referred to as
"
the district
")
is an
urban district under the government
of
the urban
district council of Bognor Regis (in this Act referred to
as
"
the Council
")
:
And whereas the unrepealed provisions of the local
Act specified in Part
I
of the First Schedule to this Act
and of the Orders specified in Part
I1
of
that schedule
are in force in the district:
And whereas the Council are the owners of water-
works and supply water throughout the district and
adjoining places and
it
is expedient to confer further
powers upon the Council in relation to their water
undertaking
:
And whereas
it
is
expedient that further and better
provision should be made with reference to streets
buildings sewers and drains infectious disease and
sanitary matters camping grounds and otherwise
for
the
health and local government of the district and that the
powers of the Council in relation thereto should be
enlarged and extended
:

And whereas
it
is expedient to authorise the Council
to acquire certain lands in the district
for
the purposes
of the extension of the public offices and for public
walks and pleasure grounds a library and museum and
for the provision
of
a car park and
a
band stand and
bathing pools
:
And whereas it is expedient that the provisions
in regard to the finances of the Council which are
contained in this Act should be made and that the
Council should be empowered to borrow money for the
purposes of this Act:
And whereas
it
is expedient that the other provisions
contained in this Act be enacted
:
And whereas the purposes
of
this Act cannot be
effected without the authority
of
Parliament:
And whereas in relation to the promotion
of
the
Bill for this Act the requirements
of
sections
253 254

and

of
have been
And whereas plans showing the lands which may
be taken under the powers of this Act and also
a
book
of reference to the plans containing the names of the
owners and lessees or reputed owners and lessees and
of the occupiers of the lands required
or
which may
be taken
for
the purposes
or
under the powers of this
Act were duly deposited with the clerk of the county
council of the administrative county
of
West Sussex
which plans and book of reference are in this Act referred
to as the deposited plans and book
of
reference:

Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent
of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons
in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority
of the same as follows
