HEREAS the Right Honourable
George
Earl
of
Aberdeen
is Heritable Proprietor of the Village
of
Boddam
in the
w
Parish
of
Peterhetid
in the County of
Aberdeen,
and of
the Harbour or Port of
Boddm,
and the Piers and Works therewith
connected: And whereas it would be of great Advantage
to
the
Public, and especially to those using the said Harbour, if the same
were to be improved, by deepening and enlarging the said Harbour
'
and the Entrances and Approaches thereto, and by extending the
said Pier, and forming a Breakwater
:
And whereas the said Earl and
his Predecessors, Proprietors
of
the said Village, have from Time
to Time expended considerable Sums in erecting the present Piers
and otherwise forming the said Harbour, and the said Earl is willing
to niake the said Improvements at his own Expence: And whereas,
in consideration
of
the Expence which the said Earl has already
incurred
as
aforesaid, and will incur in making the said Improvements
and in maintaining the said Harbour,
it
is reasonable that the said
Earl, and his Heirs and Successors, should receive the Tolls, Rates,
and Dues herein-afker mentioned: May it therefore please Your
Majesty that
it
may
be
enacted
;
and be
it
enacted
by
the Queen's

most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the
Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Par-
liament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That this 14et
shall conimence from the passing thereof, and be put in force for
improving and. maintaining the said Harbour or Port
of
BoddwL
within the Limits following
;
(that is to say,) extending Southward
as far as the Island or Peninsula on which the
Bitchanness
Light-
house is erected; Eastward as far as the North-east Point of the
said Island or Peninsula
;
and from thence in a North-eastly Direction
until it join a Line from the Beach Four hundred Yards distant froni
the Pier delineated in the Plan herein-after referred to, and inarkcci
thereon
"
present Pier," and including the present Boat Harbour,
and also all
Mugie
Rocks
opposite the proposed Entrance delineated
on the said Plan.

And whereas a Map or Plan and Sections, describing the Lines,
Levels, and Situation of the said Harbour, and the proposed Break-
water and other Works, and
of'
the Lands upon or through which the
same are intended to be made, and a Book of Reference containing
the Name of the Owner, Lessee, and Occupier of such Lands, have
been deposited with the Sheriff Clerk of the County of
Aberdeen
;
be it enacted, That the Sheriff Clerk of the said County of
Aber-
deen
for the Time being shall keep the said Plans, Sections,
and
Books of Reference, and shall permit all Persons to inspect the sanic
at seasonable Times, and shall make out Copies or Extracts there-
from
for
all Persons requiring the same,
on
being .paid One Shilling
for every such Inspection, and after the Rate of Sixpence for every
One hundred Words
of
any such Copy or Extract; and
a
Copy or
Extract from any such Plan, Section, or
Book
of
Reference, certified
hy the said Sheriff Clerk, shall be received
in
Evidence in all Courts
of
Justice.
111.
And be
it
enacted, That it shall be lawful for the said Earl,
and his Heirs and Successors, upon the Lands described in the said
Plan and Eook of Reference, and according to the Provisions herein
contained, at such Times and in such Manner as he and they may
judge proper, to make and execute the Improvements and Works
in
the said Harbour, and erect and construct the Pier and Break-
water therein, according to the Lines delineated
on
the said Map
or Plan, together with the Excavations and all other Works connected
therewith, and also to make, build, alter, repair, and maintain within
the Limits aforesaid such Quavs, Shores, Piers, Jetties, Landing
Places, and other Works, and such Approaches, Roads, Retaining
Walls and Embankments, and other Works therewith connected,
as
he or they may think necessary for the Purposes of the said Harbour,
and also from Time to Time to deepen, excavate, cleanse, enlarge,
repair, and maintain the said Harbour and Works, and the Entrances
to the same, in such Manner and to such Extent as tzhe said Earl,
and his Heirs and Successors, shall deem expedient.
IV.
And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the said Earl
to make, build, alter, and maintain such Warehouses, Storehouses,
and other Buildings and Works as he may deem necessary, for the
