whereas
the Corporation are the
owiiers
of
waterworks
and supply matcr witliiu
thc
borough
and neighbourhoocl
under
and
subject to various Acts
of
:Parliament:
And whereas the supply
of
water froni the present vaterworks
of
the
Corporation
is
inadequate
to
meet the present and growing
demands
of
the inhabitants within the water liinits
of
the
Corporation and
it
is
expedient
that
the Corporation should be
empowered to
make
and maintain the additional waterworks by
this Act
authorised
:
And
whereas
it
is
expedient that

Corporation should be
empowered to make the street
works
in this Sct described
:
And
whereas
it
is
expedient that i'nrt1ic.r and better provision
should be
made
(as
in
this Act mentioned)
in
regard to the health
local governmelit and improvement
of
the borough and that the
further powers
in
this Act cortainecl should
be
conferred
upon
the Corporation
:
And whereas the
purposes
of this
Act
cannot
be
effected without
the authority
of
Parliament
:
