HERE AS an Ad was paffed in the Sixrfi Year of the Reign.
of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Ac! for repairing and'-6 G. i.e.
widening the Road from Afhbourne to Sudbury, and frofn Sud-
bury to Yoxall Bridge, and from the Turnpike Road
upon

And whereas great Progrefs hath been made in the execution of the faid
recited Afts ; for which Purpofe confiderable Sams, of Money hay'e been.
borrowed and ftill remain due and owing upon„the Credit, of the. Tolls
granted by the faid A els ; which Money cannot "be repaid, and- the faid
Roads kept in proper Repair, unlels the-Term granted, by the faid Acls is

further continued, the Tolls increafed, and fome of the Powers and Pro-
vifions thereof altered, enlarged, and rendered more effectual: And where-
as the Road branching out of the faid Turnpike Road from Sudbury to
Toxall Bridge, at or-near-the Village of Drdycott, in the Farifh of Hanbury,
and l^ajjmg from thence t6 Silibby Lane and Foulford, and to or near the
Village/of rMdrchingion, and from thence, to the Town of Uttoxeter, and

certain other Road branching out of the faid Turnpike Road from
Sudbuxy Jo Toxall Bridge, upon or near that Part of the late Foreft or Chafe
of Nqfdiuaod which is called Hadley Plain, at the Junction of the Roads
from Uttoxeter, Newboraugh, and Hanbury, with the faid Turnpike Road
from Sudbury to Toxall Bridge^ and leading from thence to the Junction
of the Roads from Tutbury, Btirton-upon-Treni, Barton-under-Needwood,
and Abbots Bromley, otherwife Pagets Bromley (all in the faid County of
Stafford) upon that Part of the faid Foreft or Chafe which is called

lingwood Plain, are in many Places ruinous, circuitous, narrow, and in-
commodious, and the making, repairing, amending, and diverting, where
iieceffary, of the faid Two Branches of Road, will be of great public
Utility, a'iid of peculiar Advantage to the Proprietors, of Lands, Parcel of
the faid Foreft or Chafe, and to the Inhabitants of the adjacent Country,
by affording a nearer and more convenient Communication with the
Towns of Uttoxeter and Burton-upon-Trent, and divers other Towns and
Places, and an eafier Conveyance of Lime and and other Manure for tha
Cultivation and Improvement of their Lands, and for the Difpofal of the
Produce thereof at the neighbouring Markets: But as the fame cannot be
done without the Authority of Parliament; may it therefore pleafe Your
Majefty, that it may be enacted ; and be it enacted by the King's moft
Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords
Spiritual and "Terrjporal, and Commons, in this pfefent Parliament aftem-

farther ble.d, "and by the Authority-of the fame, That the faid recited Acts, and
continued. all the ;'CIaufes; Powers, Authorities, Provifions, Penalties^ Forfeitures,
Matters .and.^Things therein contained (.except fuch Parts thereof as relate
to Exemption from Stamp Duties, and alfo fuch as are hereby varied, al-
tered, or repealed) mail be and continue in' full Force arid Effect, and
together

this pre'fent Act, fhall be put in execution for and during
the.
Term herein-after mentioned, as fully and effectually, in all Refpects
i nd to all Intents and Purpofes, as ifthe faid Acts,and the Claufes, Powers,
and Provifions therein refpectively contained, were exprefsly repeated and
re-enacted in the Body,of this prefent Act, and as if the faid new Branches,
of Road had been Part of the Roads included in the faid Acts, but fub-
ject neyerthelefs'to the Alterations and Amendments herein contained, and
which fhall commence and take effect: upon the paffing of this Act; and
that this Act and the Term and Powers hereby granted, fhall be and are
hereby declared to be fubject and liable in.Manner herein-after directed or
declared, to the Payment of all Monies now due and owing, or which
fhall or may hereafter be borrowed or become due on the Credit of the faid
recited Atts and of this Act, or-any of them, and of all Tntereft due and
to become due for the fame refpectively.
New Traders ' I5' And be it further enacted, That from and after the pailing of this
appointed for Act, the furvivmg or remaining Truftees acting under or by virtue of the
tie Sudbury faid recited Acts or either of them, together with Charles Bowyer Adderley,
Diftria. William Akers, Jofeph Akers,
